Dali's Cafe Surreal

For my Intro to Typography class, we were challenged to create a restaurant based on an randomly drawn artist. I got Salvador Dali, much to my delight, and decided to incorporate the common elephants on stilts imagery he used in his paintings.
The Logo
The first part of this project was to create a logo. After many rough sketches and restaurant concepts, I settled on a cafe that specialized in a variety of beverages and sandwiches, and was also a gathering for artists and other creatives.
The Menu
After creating the logo, we needed to create a menu featuring the products on the eatery. Since I wanted a simple cafe, I kept the menu simple as well with almost no imagery and built with a clean layout. The menu is double sided with an accordion fold, with the elephant texture appearing on one flap of the front, and Dali himself peering around the front corner of the menu.
